NEW YEAR’S DAY SCHEDULE

Statesville City offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in observance of New Year’s Day. There will be no garbage collection that day. The revised schedule for residential and commercial routes for the week of Dec. 30 – Jan.3 is:

Residential routes: Monday and Tuesday routes will operate on a regular schedule; Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected on Thursday; Friday routes will be on their regular schedule.

Commercial businesses with roll-out toters: Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on a regular schedule; Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected on Thursday. Friday and Saturday routes will operate on their regular schedule.

Holiday Schedule for the Statesville Fitness and Activity Center

For New Year’s, the Center will be open on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 5:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. It will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014.

Holiday Schedule for the Statesville ABC Stores

The Statesville ABC stores will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014.

Live, undecorated Christmas trees will be picked up from the curb beginning Dec. 26.

Statesville City Council will not meet on Monday, Jan. 6. & 20; The only Council meeting in January will be on Monday, Jan. 13.

Be sure that you have the necessary items for an emergency of this type.  Click here for a check list.

Read Police Chief Tom Anderson's advice on driving in winter weather.

If you experience a power outage, call 704-878-3479 to report the outage.  Please give your address and any important information about what you might have seen or heard related to the outage.  This is very important that you report the outage.  It helps electric utilities crew locate the problem quicker and get your power back on!

Call 704-878-3406 to report water problems, minor wrecks and other city-related problems.  If someone is badly hurt or in danger, call 911.
