Arbor Day-Earth Day
Children’s Festival
Saturday, April 17
 
Lakewood Park is host to the City’s Arbor/Earth Day Celebration on April 17. The festivities will go on from 1-4 p.m. and are free to the public.
 
There will be activities and crafts, live entertainment and storytelling. There will be lots of exhibits pertaining to the environment and nature. Children will see live animals and go home with a live tree to plant.
 
The event is sponsored by the Statesville Tree Commission, Keep Iredell Clean-Keep America Beautiful, Statesville Recreation and Parks Department and Iredell County Recycling.

Don't miss this year's exciting games on May 12 at Statesville High School stadium   

Wednesday, May 12
9 a.m. - noon
Statesville High School Stadium
474 N. Center St.

More than 900 athletes, families, volunteers and supporters are expected to attend this annual event.  Spring Games is one of the highlights of Special Olymlpics competitions.  Athletes age 8 and older from all over Iredell County will compete in track and field events.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Spectator parking is available at Lakewood Park, where there will be a shuttle service to the stadium.
