The City is out of the dumpster business effective August 1, 2012.  The City of Statesville will no longer provide dumpster service to commercial establishments or apartment complexes currently using dumpsters.

There will be no changes to residential garbage and recycling services at this time.

Sanitation Service to Apartment Complexes:

  1. City service to apartment complexes with roll-out carts will continue to be offered by the City.
  2. Service to apartment complexes for bulky items (furniture, appliances, etc.) will be continued by the City.

Commercial Roll-Out Cart Service:

  1. Effective July 1, 2012, the monthly rate for commercial roll-out cart service will increase from $2.60 to $10.70 per cart, serviced once per week.
  2. City Code allows a maximum of three roll-out containers for commercial customers.  Additional carts may be allowed for special conditions in the downtown area.
  3. Commercial customers are serviced a maximum of twice weekly.  Additional pickups may be allowed in the downtown area.

Dumpster customers will be responsible for securing service through a private hauler before August 1. Private haulers offering service in the Statesville area are:
