Friday, April 11 - Downtown Statesville Art Crawl: Featured in City Hall will be the Iredell-Statesville Schools' Presidential Art Show. There will be student cloggers, bluegrass musicians and dramatic performances of the Tom Dooley Story - PLUS on display - reproductions of the art that was selected to hang in the lobby of the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC. 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 12 - Arbor Day Celebration: Come to the Statesville Soccer Complex and enjoy a great event for the whole family - tree giveaways, disc golf, nature walks, free document shredding, Zootastic Petting Zoo, Tethered hot air balloon rides, green businesses and organizations, local vendors with natural products, information on healthy living and more. It's Free! 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Saturday, April 12 - Thorlo Classic 5K at Statesville Soccer Complex: this is the second annual Thorlo Classic 5K and one-mile walk. Pre-registration is encouraged at www.racingtoes.com/pages/events.html or at the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center. $20 registration; $30 Race Day registration. 9 a.m. race; 10 a.m. one-mile walk.

Wednesday, April 16 - Summer Camp Registration opens;

day camp runs six weeks for Kindergarten-12 years old and is $55 per week for city resident and $65 for non-resident; Adventure Camp for ages 10-14 is $105 per week for city resident and $115 for non resident. Register at Statesville Fitness & Activity Center.  For more information, click here.

Saturday, April 19 - Spring Egg Hunt at Statesville Soccer Complex; sponsored by Statesville Recreation & Parks and Grace Covenant Church. It's free for ages 10 and under. Bring a basket and come rain or shine. After the egg hunt, there are more child friendly activities; hunt begins at 10 a.m.
