City Bulletin

Statesville City crews will begin working at MacAnderson Park on N. Race St. Monday, August 12, to repair trails that have been heavily damaged from this year’s heavy rains.  Sections of the trail will be closed to park users, but at least a mile of trails will be opened at all times.

City crews will improve drainage in the upper level of the walking park, where most of the damage has occurred, in hopes of curtailing future problems.  Repairs will also be made to sections of the lower trail.

Park users are asked to be aware of the barricades and not use the areas that are closed to the public.  There will be some sections where walkers can leave the trail for a short distance and walk around the work that is being done.

Use caution when using the park.  The work is expected to take several weeks to complete.

Please call the Recreation & Parks Department at 704-878-3429 for more information.
