During Monday night's City Council meeting, Larry Pressley was named City Manager for Statesville. He has been serving as interim manager since September, 2012, following the retirement of Rob Hites.

Mayor Costi Kutteh had high praises for Council's selection. "We fully understood this would be the most important personnel decision, if not the most important decision, any of us would make for our City," he said at the meeting.

"...We (Council) realized, by unanimous consensus, that Larry Pressley is the person to lead Statesville into the future. In addition to being an intelligent and insightful leader, Larry exhibits interpersonal communication skills which will be invaluable ... Simply stated, he is a good man and the right man for the job," said Kutteh.
