The City of Statesville will pick up tree limbs and yard debris from the curb under certain circumstances. This service is provided to residents who are doing their own yard work.
If a resident hires a commercial tree company or individual contractor to do yard work, it is their responsibility to have the debris hauled.
Here are other guidelines for curbside collection of tree limbs and oversized yard debris:
Limbs should be cut into lengths of three to four feet and placed on the curb.
Limbs should be stacked neatly at the curb, separated from other yard debris.
Limbs and branches more than ten inches in diameter should be placed in a separate pile on the curb.
Do not mix leaves and limbs.
Do not place large piles of debris under electric lines.
Be considerate of traffic and pedestrians – streets and sidewalks should not be blocked if at all possible.
Oversized piles of limbs will be picked up for a $25 fee. “Oversized” is anything more than two cubic yards or more than what could be carried off in the back of a small pick-up truck.”
Call 704-878-3415 to inform the Statesville Sanitation Department that you have limbs needing to be picked up. Call this same number to make arrangements to pay the fee if warranted.
