The tax rate will go up by 5 cents – from 41 cents to 46 cents.  This is the first "real" tax increase since 2003.

Residential garbage customers will now be charged a $120 annual Solid Waste Fee.  (It will appear on your tax bill from the County.)

There is no increase in the Electric rates (In fact, the rate has gone down 6% in the past 18 months.)

There is a 3% increase in water and sewer rates.

The budget includes the purchase of an automated garbage truck and the implementation of the first phase of automated trash pick-up at savings of $100,000 annually. (Scheduled to begin in 2017)
