Trying to stop a small problem before it becomes a big one, Sanitation Director Fred Morrison is reminding Statesville citizens that the City does not pick up limbs cut by commercial tree trimming companies or individual contractors. It is the responsibility of the owner to have these limbs hauled off.
Requirements for limbs placed on the curb for pick-up are the following: limbs must not be more than 6-8 inches in diameter and 3-4 feet in length. The limbs must be stacked neatly at the curb, separated from other yard debris.
A $25 fee will be charged for hauling oversized piles of limbs. Morrison describes “oversized” as “anything more than two cubic yards … or more than what could be carried in the back of a small pick-up truck.”
