Christmas Holiday – Monday, December 25 & Tuesday, December 26, 2023
City of Statesville offices will be closed Monday, December 25, 2023, and Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in recognition of the Christmas holiday. The Statesville Fitness and Activity Center & Bentley Community Center will also be closed December 24 – December 26, 2023.
Revised residential garbage collection and recycling schedule:
- Monday and Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday.
- Wednesday and Thursday’s routes will be collected on Thursday.
- Friday’s routes will be collected on a regular schedule.
Revised commercial businesses (roll-out containers) garbage collection schedule:
- Monday and Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday.
- Wednesday and Thursday’s routes will be collected on Thursday.
- Friday and Saturday’s routes will be collected on a regular schedule.
Leaf collection will be scaled back the week after Christmas due to sanitation crews will be running garbage and recycling routes on a shortened schedule. Crews will begin picking up live, undecorated Christmas trees from the curb on January 2, 2024.
When recycling, please follow these guidelines:
- Shiny or glittery wrapping paper CANNOT be recycled. Please remove ribbon and bows.
- Flatten cardboard before placing it in the recycling cart.
- Twist ties, ribbons, bow, electric cords and other wires and tanglers CANNOT be recycled.
- Only #1 and #2 plastic jugs, tubs, and bottles should be recycled.
- NO GLASS is accepted.
