Did You Know?
The City of Statesville will begin its annual leaf collection program on October 21, 2024 (loose leaves are collected at the back of the curb between the months of October thru February while bagged leaves are collected year-round on the same day as residential garbage pickup). To make the process as efficient as possible, the city has divided its collection efforts into five areas. Crews will start in Area One and continue sequentially through the remaining areas. The schedule will repeat throughout the fall and winter to ensure all neighborhoods are covered.
Residents are encouraged to review the boundaries for each area to determine their designated collection zone:
- Area One: South of W. Front Street and west of S. Center Street/Shelton Avenue including Beechnut, Bristol Road, Wilson Lee Blvd, and neighborhoods along Wallace Springs Road.
- Area Two: South of E. Broad Street and east of S. Center Street/Shelton Avenue. Areas include E. Raleigh Avenue, Charles Street, Rolling Lane, East Side Drive, Valley stream Road, East End Avenue, Florence Road, the Statesville Country Club and Brookmeade.
- Area Three: North of E. Broad Street and east of I-77 including Camelot Drive, N. Greenbriar Road, Marthas Ridge, Simonton Road and Mocksville Hwy.
- Area Four: North of E. Broad Street, between N. Center Street and south I-77 including Knox Street, Cythina Street, W. End Avenue, Davie Avenue, Sullivan Road, and Museum Road.
- Area Five: North of W. Front Street and west of N. Center Street including Gregory Road, Ridgeway Avenue, Phoenix Street, Oakland Avenue, and Mitchell Community College Historic District.
