Tips for Possible Flooding
Posted on 02/05/2020
storm drain on carroll st.Heavy rains are expected in our area today through Thursday night and the City wants you to be prepared. Street and Stormwater crews are clearing as many street storm drains/gates as possible and will be monitoring hot spots throughout the City to hopefully avoid flooding issues.

Residents are asked to help out by removing leaf piles or yard waste from the street gutter lines and storm inlets in preparation for the rainfall. If you have Stormwater features installed on your property, please check and maintain them so that the creeks, streams and drains are free of leaves, debris and obstructions.

Report all flooding and drainage issues to the City at [email protected] or 704-761-2376 with your name, contact info and details and address of the problem.

You are reminded to not walk, swim or drive through flood waters. Turn around, don’t drown! Just six inches of moving water can knock you down, and one foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away. If you find yourself in an emergency, please call 911.

There could also be thunderstorms and heavy winds. If you are a Statesville Electric Utilities customer, report all outages to 704-878-3479.
