Sealed bids for furnishing the labor and equipment as specified, for the installation of one (1) - 115 kV - 24.94 / 14.4 kV substation will be received by the City of Statesville, North Carolina at the City’s Utility Warehouse, located at 915 Winston Avenue, Statesville, North Carolina 28677 at or before 2:00 pm local time on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at which time the bids shall be publicly opened and read.

Proposals shall be addressed to the City of Statesville, 915 Winston Avenue, Statesville, North Carolina 28677 Attention: Mr. John Maclaga.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

A certified check or cashiers’ check payable to the City of Statesville or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds in the amount equal to five (5) percent of the total of the bid must be submitted in a separate sealed envelope, separate from the bid package. Bid proposals may not be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the date of receipt of bids.

The successful bidder shall be required to furnish separate, one hundred percent (100%), Performance Bond and Payment Bond on the forms included as a part of the Contract Documents.

The bid deposit shall be retained by The City of Statesville if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract or fails to provide the required bonds as stated above, within ten (10) days after award of the contract.

The City of Statesville invites and encourages participation in this bidding process by minority business enterprises. The City of Statesville reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals and to accept any proposal which is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Statesville, North Carolina.
