“What a great day for Statesville,” were the first words from Mayor Costi Kutteh in conjunction with the announcement that Sherwin-Williams is expanding its Statesville manufacturing facility and has plans to construct an 800,000-square-foot distribution and fleet transportation center in the area. There were a lot of behind-the-scenes efforts “to accomplish this result,” added Kutteh, “and we are grateful to Iredell EDC, Iredell County and the State of North Carolina for their tremendous partnership with our City.”

The official announcement came from Raleigh, but Kutteh and City Council members are especially excited to share the news with the Statesville community:

  • A minimum $300 million investment
  • The addition of more than 180 full-time jobs at the site over the next three years (doubling the current workforce)
  • A 36,000-square-foot extension of the existing facility
  • A new 800,000-square-foot distribution and fleet transportation center
  • Good paying jobs

“It’s a great mix of job retention and job expansion,” said Statesville City Manager Ron Smith. “There is a lot to celebrate with this announcement!”
