Mayor Proclaims November 21, 2022 as Stacie Kennington Day

Mayor Costi Kutteh proclaimed November 21, 2022 as Stacie Kennington Day at the City Council meeting on Monday night.
Kennington, a Statesville Parks & Recreation Department Tennis Pro, was awarded the 2022 Carlton Harris Tennis Professional of the Year award by the United States Tennis Association of North Carolina. The award is presented annually to a tennis professional who demonstrates a significant contribution to the game of tennis through their promotion of USTA tennis programs and their support of the USTA Mission.
The USTA North Carolina administers a variety of programs statewide for players of all ages and ability levels. As a not-for-profit organization, the association invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis in North Carolina. There are currently more than 29,000 USTA members residing in North Carolina, including 6,000 juniors and 23,000 adults.
