Whew! The Statesville Police Department had a jam-packed Saturday getting the opportunity to hang out and be apart of several amazing events within our community. Officer C. Austin, and Captains M. Carmona and J. Galliher were invited to the MX3 Wheels and Warriors Car Show at the Manheim Auto Auction this morning benefiting the Marlowe, Mills, and Murphy families. The event was blessed with great weather and an awesome turnout for a great cause. One of our patrol cars even got “ducked” by some of the Jeep folks.
Chief D.W. Onley, Capt. P. Ballard and Community Resource Coordinators T. Brown-Evans and P. Navey were invited to attend the Fill and Feed Back to School Event sponsored by My Vision Unlimited at the Salvation Army. Organizations and members of the community banded together to provide a good meal and school supplies for youths in the area.

Then everyone converged on the Troutman ESC Park for the 5th Annual Walk for Recovery. This event spreads the word about recovery, prevention, treatment, and education assistance related to substance abuse and mental illness. Many organizations in the area were there to provide information and access to resources to help with the journey, as well as provide a solid meal for all those in attendance.
We appreciate the opportunity to take part in events like these that allow us to connect and interact with the community. Thank you everyone for a fun day of fellowship and great causes!
