UPDATE: Homicide Investigation of Courtney D. Bradshaw

On July 26, 2020, the Statesville Police Department responded to 527 Elam Avenue in reference to a subject that had been shot in a vehicle. During the investigation, Courtney Deshawn Bradshaw was identified as the victim and pronounced deceased on the scene. Investigators arrived on the scene and began interviewing potential witnesses. On July 28, 2020, investigators obtained a warrant for David Lee Chambers for the homicide of Courtney Deshawn Bradshaw.

On October 1, 2020 the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department arrested David Lee Chambers for a separate shooting that occurred in their jurisdiction. Investigators from the Statesville Police Department interviewed David Lee Chambers in which he confessed to the homicide of Courtney Deshawn Bradshaw.

UPDATE: On December 19, 2022, David Lee Chambers plead guilty to 2nd Degree Murder and Possession of Firearm by a Felon in Iredell County Superior Court in the death of Courtney Deshawn Bradshaw. Chambers was sentenced to 240 – 300 months in the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
