City of Statesville Proposed 2023-2024 Budget

The City of Statesville Fiscal Year 2023-2024 recommended budget was presented to City Council at the May 15, 2023 Council meeting by City Manager Ron Smith.

Public Hearing

A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 7pm during the City Council meeting.

Budget Workshop

A budget workshop for City Council has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 from 4-7pm at the Statesville Civic Center.  Additional dates, if needed, will be on June 7 and June 8 from 4-7pm at the Statesville Civic Center.

Awards and Acknowledgements

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Awards

The GFOA has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Statesville, North Carolina for its 2021 comprehensive annual financial report. The City of Statesville has received this prestigious award for more than 20 consecutive years. A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. We believe that our current comprehensive annual financial report continues to meet the Certificate of Achievement Program's requirements, and we are submitting it to the GFOA to determine its eligibility for another certificate.

The City has also been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the ninth consecutive year. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device.
