The Airport Commission is responsible for recommending broad policies that affect the care and maintenance of the Statesville Regional Airport. The commission makes recommendations to City Council regarding airport facilities and properties.
The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month at City Hall at 12:00pm in the second floor conference room.
The Statesville Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board appointed by the Statesville City Council. The Board's responsibilities include granting variances and hearing appeals from decisions or interpretations made by zoning administrators.
This board meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 12:30pm.
The Statesville Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) was established by the City Council in 1982. Its mission is to identify, preserve, and protect Statesville's historic resources and to educate the public about those resources and historic preservation in general.
Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7pm in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
The Statesville Planning Board reviews and makes recommendations on planning policies, ordinances, and procedures; advises City Council on the means for carrying out these plans; considers Zoning Ordinance text changes, changes in the zoning designation of properties; major development proposals and major subdivisions of property.
This board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
The Technical Review Committee (TRC) reviews the following information: zoning, specific lot measurements, site data, parking, landscaping, street data, stream buffer, FEMA regulations, soil erosion control and grading plan, utilities and services, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water, electricity, and problems unique to the site.
This committee meets twice a month, the first and third Wednesday of the month.
The primary objective of the Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is to promote, solicit and encourage travelers to stop and stay in the Greater Statesville Area resulting in furthering the continued economic development of the City.
This committee meets the third Tuesday of each month at 9:00am. Members are appointed by the City Council for four-year terms.

The City of Statesville appreciates your interest in serving on a Board, Committee or Commission and requests that you complete the following application. The application will provide general information based on your interest in serving for the Mayor and City Council to consider in making appointments. All members of the City of Statesville Boards, Committees and Commissions are appointed by either the City Council or the Mayor.
If you need more information about a board or the responsibilities, please contact the City Manager’s Office at 704-878-3583. The application must be returned to the City Manager’s Office to be considered for appointment via one of the methods listed below. The volunteer application will remain on file for three (3) years from the date received.
