Culvert Replacement: S Toria Drive and Beauty Street

The Culvert Replacements Project will upgrade stormwater infrastructure at two locations in Statesville. 

On Beauty Street, the existing 48-inch corrugated metal pipe will be replaced with two 9-foot-wide by 6-foot-high box culverts.

On S. Toria Drive, the 72-inch corrugated metal pipe will be replaced with two 11-foot-wide by 8-foot-high box culverts.

Statesville Police Department Expansion and Parking Deck

The City of Statesville is making a major investment in public safety and infrastructure with the expansion of the Statesville Police Department and the construction of a six-level parking deck at 330 S. Tradd Street, Statesville, NC 28677. 

In addition, DELCO, a private developer, will fund and construct an apartment complex as part of the project, bringing new residential opportunities to downtown.

Statesville Fire Station 5June 2026

The City of Statesville is expanded fire protection services with the development of Statesville Fire Station 5 at 533 Gaither Road. The project involved retrofitting an existing house on the property to function as a fire station, including building upgrades, roof replacement, grading and concrete work, and the addition of an apparatus bay to support emergency response operations.

Circuit 63 Undergrounding Project

June 2026

The Circuit 63 Undergrounding Project was a major infrastructure upgrade designed to improve electric reliability for residents in the Valley Stream, Earlwood, and Glenhaven neighborhoods. This area has experienced frequent power outages during storms due to its large population of mature trees. To address this, overhead lines were placed underground, and the existing 4 kV circuit were converted to a more modern 22.9 kV system. The project included boring conduit and installing padmount transformers throughout the neighborhood.

Statesville Event Center Sound + Video UpgradesJune 2026

This project upgraded the aging sound and video equipment at the Event Center to ensure a modern, reliable, and user-friendly system that meets today’s technology standards. These improvements enhanced the experience for conferences, community gatherings, weddings, and special events, helping the Event Center remain a competitive, professional, and dependable venue for the community.

Kimbrough Park RenovationJune 2026

The Kimbrough Park Renovation is a major improvement project which upgraded park amenities to create a more accessible and enjoyable public space. This project included the installation of a new playground and shelter near the basketball courts and restrooms, along with renovations to enhance ADA compliance in the restroom facilities. These upgrades make Kimbrough Park a more inviting and functional space for community gatherings and recreation.

Statesville Regional Airport Terminal BuildingMarch 2026

The City of Statesville is invested in the future of air travel with the construction of a new three-level airport terminal at 238 Airport Road. This state-of-the-art facility will enhance the experience for pilots, travelers, and businesses utilizing the Statesville Regional Airport, a key transportation hub in the region.
