Risk Management for the City of Statesville consists of the City's efforts to identify and minimize potential liabilities to the City. We do this in a number of ways including:

  • The purchase of various insurances
  • Facilities and work practice inspections
  • Safety Programs
  • Emergency response and action planning
  • Identifying and analyzing loss exposure
  • Risk transfer and avoidance
  • Policy development, implementation and review

The Statesville Human Resources and Information Technology Departments have worked to activate the self service module of 'Tyler' for all City employees. This system allows employees to enter their own time daily, submit leave requests for approval, submit payroll changes such as address, phone number, taxes and direct deposit information through the 'Tyler' software. Individual employees will also be able to view their personal earnings history, see tax exemptions, personal information and leave time balances.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Transparency in Coverage

The Departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services (the Departments) issued the Transparency in Coverage Final Rules⁠ (85 FR 72158) on November 12, 2020. The final rules, requiring payers to publish machine-readable files containing in-network and out-of-network rates for providers in North Carolina and other states, went into effect for non-grandfathered group health plans and health insurance issuers in the individual and group markets (plans and issuers) on July 1, 2022.
