Water Main Repair Underway on Stockton Street

Last Updated 11/12/2025Posted in Latest City News, Homepage

UPDATE: Water Service Restored on Stockton Street (2:16pm)

Water service has been restored in the Stockton Street area following repairs to the damaged water main.

As service returns, some customers may notice air in the lines or discolored (brown) water caused by sediment being stirred up in the system. This is normal after a main repair.

To help clear your lines, run cold water from the bathtub faucet for several minutes until it runs clear.

If discoloration continues or you have questions, please contact the City of Statesville Water Resources Department at 704-878-3417.

Thank you for your patience as crews worked to complete this repair.

Original Message: November 12 - 12:45pm

City of Statesville Water Resources crews are responding to a damaged water main on Stockton Street after it was hit by a contractor working on the Waterline Replacement Project.

Residents and businesses in the area (Stockton Street from S. Center to Euclid including side streets in between) may experience water outages or reduced water pressure while repairs are being made. At this time, there is no estimated completion time for the repair.

Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore full service. Once repairs are complete and water service is restored, updates will be shared on the City’s website and social media channels.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete the repair.
