City Closings & Residential Sanitation Changes

NEW YEAR'S DAY

City offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of New Year’s Day. The Statesville Recreation Center and Bentley Community Center will operate regular hours on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

FEATURED EVENT: Pickleball 101 - Learn to Play

Ready to join one of the fastest-growing sports in the country? Whether you've never held a paddle or are looking for a refresher on the fundamentals, this program will give you the skills and confidence to enjoy the game.

Over the course of eight sessions, participants will:

  • Learn the rules, scoring, and court layout.
  • Practice basic techniques, including serving, returning, and dinking.
  • Develop footwork and positioning for both singles and doubles play.
  • Play fun, guided games to apply new skills in a supportive environment.

All equipment is provided - just bring comfortable clothing, athletic shoes, and your enthusiasm for learning something new!

🔹 Police Officer (Full-Time): This position performs intermediate protective service work involving a variety of general or support duty police assignments; does related work as required.

🔹Crime Analyst (Full-Time): This position is responsible for collecting, categorizing, analyzing, and disseminating timely and accurate information that describes crime patterns, crime trends, and potential suspects; responsible for analyzing crime and police incident patterns and trends to aid in the prevention, suppression, and resolution of criminal activity.

Large portions of central and northern North Carolina are shaded red and dark red, indicating extreme (D3) and exceptional (D4) drought conditions.
