Residential Programs - Electric Heat Pump Rebates

Statesville Public Power in partnership with ElectriCities of NC, Inc.

Save Money with Energy-Efficient Upgrades

City of Statesville Electric residential customers are eligible for rebates when upgrading to high-efficiency electric heating and cooling systems or electric water heaters. These upgrades can significantly reduce your energy bills while improving comfort in your home.

High Efficiency Electric Heat Pump Rebates

Receive up to $500 when you install a high-efficiency, electric-only heat pump system that meets the following requirements:

  • System must be solely electric (no fossil fuel backup)
  • Must meet minimum SEER2 efficiency ratings (see table below)
  • Must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor
  • ENERGY STAR® certified equipment recommended

What is SEER2?

SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2) measures the cooling efficiency of a heat pump or air conditioner. The higher the SEER2 rating, the more efficient the system, which means lower energy bills and reduced environmental impact.

Why it matters:

Upgrading to a high-efficiency system can reduce your cooling and heating costs by up to 30-40% compared to older systems.
