Construction of the new shelter at Kimbrough Park is complete. A new concrete sidewalk connecting the parking lot to the shelter and the shelter pad has been poured. The concrete is currently curing, and the shelter will open once it is ready for use. Staff is completing final grading and preparing the area for grass where construction activity occurred.
Renovations at Kimbrough Park are progressing well. The new playground installation is underway and moving closer to completion. While recent weather conditions may cause slight delays, crews are working to finish the installation as soon as possible.
Next, a new picnic shelter will be added to the park. Materials are on order, and installation will begin once everything is ready. After the shelter is installed, the sidewalk will be extended and repaired to provide better access from the parking area.
In addition, plans are being finalized to begin maintenance and cleaning of Kimbrough Pond. This work will help improve the appearance and health of the pond for all park visitors.
