The project team is now awaiting fence installation, which will be followed by court resurfacing.

Project Update: November 6, 2025

Work continues to progress at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park Pickleball Courts. Demolition is complete, and the new concrete slab was poured on October 24, 2025. The slab must cure for 28 days before resurfacing can begin. During this time, the contractor will focus on fence installation and other project elements, while City crews work on upgrading the lighting controls to enhance the overall playing experience. Once the concrete pad has fully cured, resurfacing will begin, marking the next major milestone toward completion of the new courts.
Project Update: October 3, 2025

The Pickleball Courts at MLK Jr. Park are officially underway. Crews have already removed the old fence and horseshoe pits, and demolition of the old asphalt is scheduled for October 6. After that, crews will prepare the pad, pour new concrete, and install new fencing by mid-October. Surfacing, game lines, and nets will follow in November, with a final walk-through set for November 17. Nearby residents have been notified, and while some daytime noise is expected, traffic in and out of the site will remain minimal. The project is on track to deliver brand-new courts this fall.
