The Pickleball Courts at MLK Jr. Park are officially underway. Crews have already removed the old fence and horseshoe pits, and demolition of the old asphalt is scheduled for October 6. After that, crews will prepare the pad, pour new concrete, and install new fencing by mid-October. Surfacing, game lines, and nets will follow in November, with a final walk-through set for November 17. Nearby residents have been notified, and while some daytime noise is expected, traffic in and out of the site will remain minimal. The project is on track to deliver brand-new courts this fall.
