The Statesville Historic Preservation Commission will conduct a regular meeting on September 26th, 2024, beginning at 7:00pm. The meeting will be located at 227 South Center Street in the Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor.

5. Review and approval of August 22, 2024 HPC Minutes.

6. Consider Certificate of Appropriateness (COA24-23) from Ashley Jimenez to construct a new house and garage on the property located at 431 S Mulberry Street; Tax Map 4734-93-3776.

7. Consider Certificate of Appropriateness (COA24-24) from Richard Boyd to redesign and rebuild the rear part of the house located at 625 Walnut Street; Tax Map 4734-74-5462.

8. Consider Certificate of Appropriateness (COA24-25) from David and Sally Parker to remove the playhouse structure in the rear yard located at 219 N Mulberry Street; Tax Map 4734-86-3139.

9. Consider Certificate of Appropriateness (COA24-26) from David and Sally Parker to build an addition to the rear of the house located at 219 N Mulberry Street; Tax Map 4734-86-3139.

10. Consider Certificate of Appropriateness (COA24-27) from Riddle & Kelly Homes LLC for an after-the-fact approval to remove the metal roofing materials and replace with asphalt shingles and standing seam metal on the structure located 524 West Sharpe Street; Tax Map 4734-83-2888.

A North Carolina drought monitor map dated June 2, 2026, shows drought conditions across the state. Much of central and northern North Carolina remains in severe to extreme drought, indicated by orange and red shading. Areas of western North Carolina and portions of the coastal region are experiencing moderate drought, shown in tan. A small area in the southeastern corner of the state remains in extreme drought. The map includes drought classification categories ranging from abnormally dry (D0) to exceptional drought (D4), along with logos from the USDA, NDMC, NOAA, and other monitoring agencies.
