Loose Leaf Collection

Loose leaf collection continues. To help ensure an efficient collection, please follow these guidelines:

  • Place leaves at the curb in front of your residence, just behind the curb.
  • Do not place leaves on streets or sidewalks.
  • Avoid parking vehicles near leaf piles.
  • Ensure leaves are free of sticks or limbs.
  • Keep leaf piles clear of storm drains.
  • Do not cover water meters with leaves.

This is a safe opportunity for children to trick or treat and receive goodies from downtown businesses and organizations. Trick or Treating has become an annual event in Historic Downtown Statesville, bringing over 1500+ children to downtown in past years.

Statesville Connects is a voluntary assistance program funded by donations from Statesville Utility customers and other individuals/organizations. The City is working with the Statesville Salvation Army, a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance for low income families and people in crisis. Only Statesville residential utility customers who meet the Salvation Army’s requirements will receive assistance with their bills.

🔹Civil Engineer (Full-Time): This position is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating engineering design and construction activities for the Public Works Department.

🔹City Engineer (Full-Time): This position is responsible for directing the operations of the Engineering Department and performing complex, professional civil engineering work involving a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment. Duties include planning, supervising, and coordinating employees engaged in a wide variety of municipal engineering operations and services.

A North Carolina drought monitor map dated June 2, 2026, shows drought conditions across the state. Much of central and northern North Carolina remains in severe to extreme drought, indicated by orange and red shading. Areas of western North Carolina and portions of the coastal region are experiencing moderate drought, shown in tan. A small area in the southeastern corner of the state remains in extreme drought.
