Veterans Day

November 11, 2024

WHEREAS, on November 11th each year, our nation honors the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces, recognizing their dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting the freedoms and liberties we hold dear; and

WHEREAS, Veterans Day serves as an opportunity for our community to express heartfelt gratitude to all Veterans - those who have served in times of war and peace, and those who have given selflessly to ensure the safety of our nation; and

WHEREAS, the City of Statesville is proud to employ 45 veterans, who exemplify courage, strength, and patriotism in their commitment to duty and county across every brand of the military; and

WHEREAS, we honor the legacy of our veterans who have served both at home and abroad, recognizing that their sacrifice have played an essential role in upholding the core values of our nation; and

WHEREAS, the City of Statesville acknowledges the tremendous sacrifices made by these individuals and their families, and appreciates the enduring spirit of service they have instilled in our community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that we take time not only to remember the sacrifices of those who have served but also to reflect on the unity and resilience they have inspired within our city and our nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Constantine H. Kutteh, Mayor of the City of Statesville, do hereby proclaim November 11, 2024 as Veterans Day in the City of Statesville, and encourage all residents to join in commemorating this special day, to participate in the ceremonies and observances honoring our veterans, and to express our deepest gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have set my Hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Statesville to be affixed this 4th day of November 2024.
