City of Statesville Upcoming Street Closures: Stockton Street & Gay Street (May 5-6, 2025)

Last Updated 5/1/2025Posted in Latest City News, Homepage

The City of Statesville will have two scheduled street closures during the first week of May to accommodate important infrastructure work by Public Power and Stormwater crews. Please review the details below and plan your travel accordingly.

 Stockton Street Closure

  • Monday, May 5 | 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday, May 6 | 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Stockton Street will be closed from N. Center Street (across from Hardee’s) to Gordon Street as Statesville Public Power crews replace a utility pole. Following the power line transfer, communications crews will complete the transfer of communication lines to the new pole.

Please use an alternate route during this time to avoid delays.

 Gay Street Closure

  • Sunday, May 5 – Monday, May 6

The 1900 block of Gay Street will be closed for a storm pipe replacement project by the Statesville Stormwater Division. The road will reopen after work is completed on May 6. Motorists are encouraged to detour around the area and allow extra time for travel.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve and maintain vital city infrastructure.
