Storm Pipe Replacement to Close Section of Macon Drive Beginning June 2

Last Updated 5/30/2025Posted in Stormwater, Latest City News, Homepage

The City of Statesville Stormwater Division will begin a storm pipe replacement project on Monday, June 2 at 7:00 a.m., requiring the closure of Macon Drive at Kenmore Drive.

During this time, Macon Drive will be closed to through traffic at the intersection with Kenmore Drive. Detour routes will be clearly marked, and motorists are advised to use Museum Road and Beverly Drive as alternate routes.

This infrastructure improvement will involve replacing a damaged storm pipe that runs beneath Macon Drive. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, June 6 at 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.

We understand that road closures can be an inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as our crews work to complete this project safely and efficiently.

Please drive cautiously in the area and allow extra travel time when navigating the detour.
