Road Closure

Updated Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 2:30p

The City of Statesville will close a section of Brookdale Drive, located north of Carolina Avenue in front of the North Carolina DMV, from August 27 through September 2, 2025. This will be a 24/7 closure to allow for necessary construction activities.

Detour Information
For vehicles traveling north on Brookdale Drive and needing to access Thomas Street:

  1. From Brookdale Drive, turn left onto Carolina Avenue North.

  2. Continue on Carolina Avenue North and turn right onto Thomas Street.

Detour signage will be posted at all major turns to help guide traffic safely around the closure.

We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as we work to complete these improvements. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time when navigating through the area.
