Road Closure: Brookdale Drive from Hartness Road to Stockton - October 20

Last Updated 10/29/2025Posted in Road Closure, Latest City News, Homepage

UPDATE - 10/29/2025

Due to weather, this road closure has been delayed and is now estimated to be completed by November 7.

Brookdale Drive from Hartness Road to Stockton Street will be closed to through traffic beginning October 20 and is expected to reopen October 31 as part of the Water Line Replacement Project. Please plan ahead and use detour routes. Detour signage will be in place.

To allow access to businesses in this stretch of road, southbound traffic only will be permitted for those needing to reach offices or other destinations in the area. This section of Brookdale includes several medical offices and other businesses, so please drive slowly and watch for crews directing traffic. If you need to travel on Brookdale, enter from Carolina Avenue or Hartness Road and wait for workers on-site to assist you.

This closure will allow crews to continue installing new waterline infrastructure that improves system reliability and supports the city’s ongoing investment in utility upgrades.

Updates are posted as soon as information is available, and schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
