Water Main Repair: Oakland Avenue Road Closure

January 25, 2026 - 4:15 p.m.

City of Statesville Water Maintenance crews have completed repairs to the water main break at Chambers Street and Elm Street and have now responded to another water main break in the 400 block of Oakland Avenue.

Repairs are underway and are expected to take approximately 4–6 hours to complete. Oakland Avenue will be closed to traffic during the repair, and motorists are asked to use alternate routes while crews work.

Nearby residents may experience temporary water service interruptions during the repair.

Please avoid the area to allow crews to work safely and efficiently. Additional updates will be shared as they become available.

Water Main Break Causes Temporary Road Closure at Chambers Street and Elm Street

January 25, 2026 - 12:30 p.m.

City of Statesville Water Maintenance crews are currently responding to a water main break at the intersection of Chambers Street and Elm Street.

Repairs are underway, and crews expect the work to take approximately 4–6 hours to complete. During this time, some residents and businesses in the immediate area may experience temporary water service interruptions.

For the safety of both workers and motorists – especially with current weather conditions – drivers are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while repairs are being made. Reducing traffic around the work zone helps crews complete repairs more quickly and safely.
