Water Main Break Closes Portion of Bingham Street

Last Updated 2/5/2026Posted in Road Closure, Latest City News, Homepage

A water main break has occurred in the 300 block of Bingham Street, resulting in a temporary road closure and possible water service impacts for nearby residents. Bingham Street is currently closed between Kerr Street and N. Mulberry Street while Water Department crews complete repairs. Residents in the area may experience temporary water outages or reduced water pressure during this time. Repairs are expected to take approximately 4–6 hours to complete.

With several days of below-freezing temperatures followed by warming conditions, water main breaks can occur more frequently as pipes expand and shift underground. If you notice water pooling in the roadway, unusually wet areas, or a suspected leak, please report it to the Water Department at 704-878-3417.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews work to safely restore service.
