Statesville in Stage D3 Extreme Drought, implements Water Restrictions
The City of Statesville is currently under Stage 3 (Extreme Drought) conditions, as declared by the North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council based on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor data. As of May 4, 2026, the City will enforce water use restrictions, including fines for noncompliance, in accordance with City of Statesville Code of Ordinances and the City’s Water Shortage Response Plan, following a drought advisory and the establishment of the City’s Water Shortage Leadership Team. All residents and businesses are asked to comply with the current drought restrictions as we work together to protect our community’s water resources. Read more here.
National Police Week
Each year, communities across the country observe National Police Week (May 10 - 16, 2026) as a time to recognize the service, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers. The City of Statesville joins in honoring the men and women of the Statesville Police Department who work each day to protect and serve our community.
Here in Statesville, our officers do more than respond to calls - they build relationships, engage with residents, and contribute to the safety and well-being of our neighborhoods. From community outreach programs to everyday acts of service, their work strengthens the fabric of our city.
We invite the community to join us in showing appreciation for our law enforcement officers, during National Police Week and throughout the year. A simple thank you goes a long way in recognizing those who serve with professionalism, integrity, and care. Learn more about the Statesville Police Department at police.statesvillenc.net.
