Memorial Day - Monday May 25, 2026
City of Statesville offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no garbage collection on this day.
The Statesville Recreation Center, Bentley Community Center, and Statesville Event Center will be closed on Memorial Day.
The Statesville Leisure Pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 23, and will be open on Memorial Day. Visit recreation.statesvillenc.net/aquatics for admission information and hours of operation.
The Bentley Splash Pad will remain closed until drought-related water restrictions have been lifted.

Summer Movie Series Kicks Off Friday
Mark your calendars and get ready - Statesville’s Summer Movie Series is back! From Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend, Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality is bringing the community together for a season full of cinematic fun for all ages.
Enjoy the unique experience of Dive-In Movies at the Statesville Leisure Pool or stay cool with our Indoor Movie Series at the Statesville Event Center. With a variety of family-friendly films and unforgettable settings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this summer.

Levitt AMP Statesville Music Series
The Levitt AMP Statesville Music Series continues to bring the community together through a vibrant lineup of free, family-friendly outdoor concerts held throughout the spring and fall.
Featuring a diverse mix of genres - from rock and soul to country and indie - the series showcases talented artists from across the country while creating a welcoming space for residents and visitors to connect and enjoy live music.

Youth Agility Bootcamp
The Youth Agility Bootcamp with Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality is a high-energy fitness program designed to improve speed, coordination, balance, and overall athletic performance through dynamic drills and movement-based training.
From June 23 - July 30, 2026 (on Tuesdays and Thursdays), participants will engage in exercises focused on agility, endurance, and strength in a motivating group environment suitable for a variety of fitness levels. Learn more or register now here.
A Celebration of Heritage: Garfield Green Street Historic District
Join the Statesville African American Heritage Preservation Commission and the City of Statesville on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 12 to 3 p.m. as the community comes together to celebrate the Garfield Green Street National Historic District and its recent listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
Youth Summer Sports Camps + Fall Youth League Registration
Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality is excited to kick off registration for both Fall Youth Leagues and Youth Summer Sports Camps.
This fall, young athletes can get in the game with soccer, softball, and volleyball, while summer offers a wide variety of camps including wrestling, tennis, track & field, softball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer. These programs provide great opportunities for kids to stay active, build skills, and have fun in a supportive, team-focused environment:

Statesville at Stage D3 Extreme Drought; Water Restrictions in Effect
The City of Statesville is currently under Stage 3 (Extreme Drought) conditions, as declared by the North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council based on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor data.
As of May 4, 2026, the City will enforce water use restrictions, including fines for noncompliance, in accordance with City of Statesville Code of Ordinances and the City’s Water Shortage Response Plan, following a drought advisory and the establishment of the City’s Water Shortage Leadership Team.
All residents and businesses are asked to comply with the current drought restrictions as we work together to protect our community’s water resources. Read more here.

🔹Wastewater Control Operator Trainee - 4th Creek WWTP (Full-Time): This position is responsible for learning all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment facilities; responsible for assisting certified wastewater control operators with duties and maintenance of the plant after successfully completing orientation and trainee instruction. This position is designed for the progressive movement into a Certified Shift Operator position; therefore, the candidate hired for this position will be the next staff member to fill an open shift when it becomes available.
🔹Substation Technician (Full-Time): Under the direction of the Substation Supervisor, the Substation Technician position is responsible for technical work in the operation, installation, repair, inspection, and maintenance of electrical substation equipment and load management systems. Performs maintenance on high voltage equipment up to 100,000 volts.
