This marked a significant increase of 18.29% compared to 2022 which had 5,358 calls for service. This remarkable rise in calls demonstrates the department's continuous growth and readiness to serve, no matter the circumstances.

The breakdown of these calls by major incident type offers a glimpse into the challenges faced by the department.

Fires (171 calls 2.7%) 

  • Include but not limited to buildings, structures other than buildings, cooking, chimney, trash, vehicle, and brush or grass.

Overpressure Rupture, Explosion, Overheat – No Fire (11 calls 0.17%)

  • Include but not limited to overpressure rupture, explosion, overheat, excessive heat, and scorch burns with in ignition.

Rescue & Emergency Medical Service (4,325 calls 68.23%)

  • Include but not limited to rescue, EMS incident, medical assistance, motor vehicle accidents, extrication, and high-angle rescue.

          *Note: Of the 4,325 calls, 330 were standbys for medical facility calls.*

Hazardous Condition (No Fire) (182 calls 2.87%)

  • Include but not limited to hazardous condition, gas leak, gasoline spill, oil spill, chemical leak or spill, carbon monoxide, electrical wiring, overheated motor, power line down, and building or structure collapse.

Service Call (378 calls 5.96%)

  • Include but not limited to person in distress, lock-out, water problem, smoke or odor removal, animal rescue, public service assistance, assist police, unauthorized burning, and public service.

Good Intent Call (600 calls 9.47%)

  • Include but not limited to dispatched and cancelled en route, wrong location, authorized controlled burning, and smoke scare.

False Alarm & False Call (624 calls 9.84%)

  • Include but are not limited to malicious and or mischievous call, municipal alarm system, local alarm system, system malfunction, sprinkler activation due to system malfunction, smoke detector activation due to system malfunction, heat detector activation due to system malfunction, and detector activation with no fire.

Severe Weather & Natural Disaster (48 calls 0.76%)

  • Include but not limited to lightning strike with no fire, windstorm, and tornado/hurricane assessment.
