City Council Agenda

City Council Meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall.  The agenda is released on the Wednesday before the scheduled meeting by the City Clerk. Sign up to receive meeting agendas here.

The City of Statesville was the first municipality in the State of North Carolina to provide electric service to its citizens. As the result of this historical accomplishment, we have been recognized as the first Public Power Community in North Carolina.

Facility RentalsThe City of Statesville Recreation and Parks Department rents out many of its outdoor facilities for all kinds of occasions and functions. Whatever the occasion, chances are we have the facility right for you.
Garbage Collection

The City of Statesville provides weekly curbside collection for residents and up to two times per week for commercial customers. The first toter is provided at no cost. It is the responsibility of the householder or commercial establishment to replace if stolen or damaged from improper use or neglect.

Sanitation

The City provides weekly residential solid waste and recycling (single stream) curbside collection to an estimated ten thousand (10,000) single-family and multi-family households! 

Solicitor Permit

Effective October 1, 2025, the Statesville City Council adopted a new ordinance regulating solicitors, peddlers, and panhandlers. These changes are designed to enhance public safety, protect private property rights, and provide transparency when individuals are selling goods or requesting donations in the city.

Special Event Policy & Requests

The purpose of the Special Event Permit Policy is to provide further information to the Article V in the City Code. The Special Event Permit is for City-owned properties only. This does not remove any aspect of the City Code.

Utility + Other Payments

The City accepts cash, check, money order, debit cards and credit cards. You may mail your payment; use the drop box located on Center Street, pay online or come to the office at 301 South Center Street to make your payment.
