The City of Statesville is committed to providing residents and those impacted by Hurricane Helene with the most up-to-date information and support to help navigate the storm's aftermath. We understand the challenges the Western North Carolina communities are facing and are working diligently to ensure everyone has access to the resources they need during this difficult time.

Statesville Housing Authority

The Statesville Housing Authority has units held and the potential of additional units to come with a strong preference for natural disaster displaced families. Families affected by the storm will receive priority placement on the Housing Authority's waiting list for public housing. Usual income qualifications will be waived to ensure these families have a place to stay while they decide whether to rebuild locally or relocate.

To apply for housing, families can visit the Statesville Housing Authority's website here and select "natural disaster" to receive priority. Alternatively, families can reach out directly to the Statesville Housing Authority at (704) 761-4500, who can guide them through the application process and provide additional support.

Transportation

ICATS Transportation Service

Iredell County Area Transportation System (ICATS) is a Community Transportation Program that serves human service consumers and the general public. ICATS operates as a ride-sharing system that enables routes and schedules to be structured to transport multiple passengers to multiple destinations. Services are provided through deviated fixed routes, subscription routes, and demand-response service trips. ICATS wants to make public transportation work for everyone. We welcome suggestions for ways to improve our service.
