The City of Statesville proudly announces that Nicolas “Vinnie” Francica, Assistant Director of Information Technology, has graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s nationally acclaimed Certified Government Chief Information Officers (CGCIO™) Program.

Francica was one of more than 60 professionals from across the country to complete the rigorous 240-hour leadership and professional development program.

Designed specifically for public sector IT leaders, the CGCIO™ program prepares participants for the complex challenges of managing government technology and leading innovation in their organizations.

Launched in 2005, the UNC CGCIO™ program is the first of its kind in the nation and continues to set the standard for public technology leadership. The curriculum covers strategic technology planning, cybersecurity, procurement, legal compliance, leadership, and emerging technology trends. With over 2,000 graduates nationwide, the program is known for producing top-tier public technology executives.

“Vinnie’s graduation from the CGCIO™ program is a reflection of his commitment to excellence and his passion for serving the Statesville community through innovative and secure technology,” said Nikki Gregory, Chief Information Officer for the City of Statesville. “This accomplishment demonstrates his drive to not only stay ahead of technology trends, but to lead with vision, purpose, and a dedication to public service.”

Francica has been with the City of Statesville for almost four years and plays a vital role in enhancing and securing the City’s technology infrastructure. His leadership supports the City's efforts to improve operational efficiency and provide reliable services to the community.

The City of Statesville congratulates Vinnie on this outstanding achievement and is proud to have him as part of its leadership team.
