Constitution Week

September 17-23, 2025

WHEREAS, the Constitution of the United States of America stands as the foundation of our freedoms and remains a lasting symbol of the principals of liberty, justice, and limited government under the rule of law; and

WHEREAS, September 17, 2025, marks the two hundred and thirty-eighth anniversary of the signing of this historic document by the delegates of the Constitutional Convention; and

WHEREAS, it is both fitting and proper to honor the Constitution, reflect on its significance in shaping the nation, and celebrate the enduring rights and responsibilities it provides to every citizen; and

WHEREAS, Public Law 915 directs that each year the President of the United States proclaim September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week, encouraging citizens to join in commemorating this historic occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Constantine H. Kutteh, Mayor of the City of Statesville, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17 through 23, 2025 as CONSTITUTION WEEK and urge all residents to celebrate the legacy of the Framers by recommitting ourselves to preserving the freedoms and principles secured within this great charter of liberty. 

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have set my Hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Statesville to be affixed this 15th day of September 2025.
