Thank a Police Officer Day: Show Your Appreciation in Statesville

Last Updated 9/19/2025Posted in Latest City News, Homepage

Every day, officers with the Statesville Police Department put on their uniforms and head into the community with one goal: to keep Statesville safe. They respond to emergencies, build relationships with residents, and serve with dedication, often in ways that go unseen.

On Thank a Police Officer Day (Saturday, September 20, 2025), we encourage our residents to take a moment to recognize their service and sacrifice. A simple gesture of gratitude can make a meaningful difference in an officer’s day and remind them that their community stands behind them.

Ways You Can Thank an Officer

Looking for ways to participate? Here are a few simple ideas:

  • Say it out loud. If you see an officer in the community, a smile and a sincere “thank you” can brighten their day.
  • Send a note or card. A personal message - whether from you, your family, or your child’s classroom - is a keepsake officers will treasure.
  • Deliver a small treat. Dropping off coffee, snacks, or a meal at the station is always appreciated.
  • Encourage kids to get involved. Have your children draw pictures or write thank-you notes to share with officers.
  • Spread positivity online. Post a kind message on social media and tag the Statesville Police Department to help lift their spirits.
