Suspect Arrested Following Early Morning Pursuit

The driver then turned around, briefly driving back toward officers before making another U-turn and stopping in front of a residence in the 800 block of Birchcrest Circle. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot but was quickly apprehended after a short pursuit.

The suspect was identified as Casey O’Neil Wyatt, 40, of Statesville. Wyatt told officers he fled because he had an outstanding warrant. SPD confirmed the warrant for Felony Stalking issued by Iredell County. Wyatt was taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the vehicle revealed a handgun, multiple wigs and masks, a lock pick, gloves, flashlight, GPS trackers, and batons—all of which were seized. Officers also determined Wyatt’s driver’s license was revoked. The vehicle was towed and seized under felony flee to elude statutes.

Wyatt was served with the Felony Stalking warrant and charged with additional offenses including:

• Felony Flee to Elude
• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
• Possession of Burglary Tools
• Careless and Reckless Driving
• Driving While License Revoked
• Unsafe Lane Change
• Resist, Obstruct, and Delay an Officer

Wyatt was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was held without bond.
