2025 Statesville’s Night Out: Community, Connection, and Celebration

What a night! Statesville’s Night Out 2025 brought laughter, great food, and meaningful connections to Downtown Statesville. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate community and safety with us!

After a year’s hiatus due to Hurricane Helene, Statesville’s Night Out made its highly anticipated return on Thursday, October 2, 2025, bringing energy, laughter, and connection.

Hosted by the Statesville Police Department (SPD), this annual celebration welcomed hundreds of residents to enjoy an evening filled with fun, food, and fellowship - all centered on one goal: strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the community they serve.

A Night to Remember

More than 50 community partners joined SPD officers to share resources, offer giveaways, and showcase the services that make Statesville a safe and thriving place to live. Families enjoyed bounce houses, games, and - of course - the crowd favorite: free funnel cakes and hamburgers from the grill.

From the moment the first families arrived to the final conversations as the sun set, the evening was filled with smiling faces and meaningful connections. Children high-fived officers, parents chatted with patrol members, and neighbors met one another in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

More Than a One-Night Event

While National Night Out is traditionally observed in August, Statesville’s version is intentionally held in October - when cooler weather makes it easier for families to attend and the timing aligns with National Crime Prevention Month.

But as Chief David Onley emphasized, Night Out is more than an annual celebration - it’s part of a larger philosophy. “Events like this remind everyone that our officers are real people - parents, neighbors, and friends - who care about this community,” Chief Onley shared. “Our goal is to create spaces where trust and communication can grow.

That mission extends beyond one evening. Throughout the year, SPD hosts smaller neighborhood gatherings, bringing the same spirit of connection and safety to every corner of Statesville.

Thank You, Statesville

The success of this year’s event reflects the heart of our city - neighbors looking out for one another and working together for a safer, stronger community. The Statesville Police Department extends heartfelt thanks to all the community partners, volunteers, and residents who made the night such a success.

Be sure to check out photos from the event below and stay tuned for more opportunities to connect with SPD throughout the year. View our events calendar here.

Together, we’re building a safer Statesville - one conversation at a time.
