Statesville Police Department | Strengthening Public Safety Through Federal Support
The Statesville Police Department is proud to announce a significant investment in the safety and well-being of our community, made possible through federal funding support.
Statesville Police Chief David Onley shared his appreciation for the partnership that helped make this advancement possible: “I want to take a moment to personally thank Congressman Pat Harrigan for his support of the Statesville Police Department and our community. His advocacy helped secure $574,000 in federal funding for the City of Statesville Police Department – an investment that will directly strengthen public safety here at home.”
This funding will allow the department to enhance its capabilities in meaningful ways. A portion of the funds will be used to purchase a tactical response vehicle, providing officers with improved resources when responding to high-risk or critical incidents. Additionally, the department’s dispatch center will be upgraded with two advanced communication platforms, strengthening coordination and response times during emergencies.
“These tools are critical to protecting both our officers and the citizens we serve,” Chief Onley added. “Investments like this make a real difference. They ensure our team is prepared, equipped, and able to respond effectively in critical situations.”
The Statesville Police Department remains committed to providing the highest level of service and protection to the community. Partnerships and support at every level play a vital role in ensuring officers have the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
On behalf of the Statesville Police Department, we extend our sincere thanks to Congressman Pat Harrigan for his commitment to public safety and for recognizing the importance of supporting local law enforcement.
