Recycling Essentials: Making Your Holidays Greener in Statesville

Last Updated 12/5/2024Posted in Sanitation, Latest City News, Homepage

The holiday season brings joy, celebration, and a flurry of gifts and decorations. As we enjoy in the festivities, it's important to be mindful of our environmental impact. In Statesville, just like everywhere else, recycling plays a pivotal role in preserving our planet's health. Here's a quick guide to help you navigate recycling during this festive season and contribute to a greener community.

Cardboard

You can recycle cardboard packaging, gift boxes, and cards. Just be sure to flatten them first.

Bows

Bows are NOT recyclable. Be sure to reuse them when you can or throw them in the trash.

Glitter and Foil

Glitter and foil makes things sparkly - but wrapping paper and items with this as a decoration should not go in the recycling.

Paper Holiday Cards

Paper holiday cards can and should be recycled; cards printed on photo paper should be trashed.

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, but a few conscious choices can make a significant impact on reducing waste. By following these simple guidelines, you're not only contributing to a cleaner Statesville but also setting a positive example for a more sustainable future.
