Downtown Crosswalk Construction

Last Updated 4/2/2024

Starting the week of April 1st, the Statesville Street Department will kick off a project to boost downtown safety and accessibility. Over approximately one month, they'll be installing new pedestrian crossing signs at key locations.

While street closures aren't expected, please stay vigilant and patient as we enhance our downtown community.

What to Expect

  • New signs will enhance visibility and safety at downtown crosswalks.
  • Minor delays may occur for drivers and pedestrians during installation.
  • Some parking spaces might be temporarily blocked off for the work.

Project Details

Duration: About one month, weather permitting.

Locations: Look out for installations at these crosswalks:

  • 100 block of E. Broad Street – at Cooper Street near Honorcraft and the former Harry & Jeanie West Stringed Instruments
