Temporary Discolored Water in Restmore Lane and Surrounding Area
Residents in the Restmore Lane and Lakeview Drive areas are currently experiencing brown or discolored water following recent work on the Waterline Project.
Contractors completed a tie-in to the new water line on Restmore Lane yesterday and are continuing tie-in work today on Sherwood Lane. These connections can temporarily disturb sediment inside existing water lines due to changes in water pressure, resulting in discoloration.
Similar conditions are expected in the Sherwood Lane area once today’s work is complete.
City crews are actively flushing hydrants throughout the area to help clear the lines and restore normal water conditions as quickly as possible.
If you notice discolored water, run COLD water from a bathtub faucet for about five minutes, or until the water runs clear. This helps move sediment out of your household plumbing.
To report ongoing issues, please call the Public Utilities Department at 704-878-3417. After normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), contact the Statesville Police Department at 704-878-3406. Providing detailed location information will help crews respond quickly.
The City appreciates your patience as this work continues.
