School Supplies Needed! Help Us Fill 1,500 Bookbags for Local Students!
We are once again rallying the community to help local students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Residents are asked to donate school supplies at collection sites throughout the city until July 24, 2026. Donations will support our annual backpack giveaway during the Statesville Heritage Festival on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Statesville Event Center. Learn more here.

Celebrating America 250 through Stories, Culture, and Community
The Statesville Heritage Festival, presented by the City Of Statesville, is a community celebration that brings people together through culture, history, food, music, storytelling, and shared experiences.
As part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration, this festival honors the many people, traditions, and contributions that have shaped both our nation and our local community. Throughout the day, visitors will have opportunities to explore cultural exhibits, enjoy live entertainment, participate in hands-on activities, connect with local organizations, and learn about the stories that make Statesville unique. Statesville Bookbag Giveaway (Saturday, August 1, 2026)
Our annual Bookbag Giveaway is designed to help local students begin the school year with confidence by providing free backpacks filled with essential school supplies. Thanks to the generosity of community members, local businesses, civic organizations, and volunteers, hundreds of students receive the tools they need to be successful in the classroom each year. Stage D2 Extreme Drought Continues; Water Restrictions still in Effect
The City of Statesville has reduced its water shortage response level to Stage 2 following improved drought conditions and guidance from state drought officials. Read more here.

🔹Public Works Director (Full-Time): This position is responsible for administrative and supervisory work involving planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and directing the operations and programs of the City’s Public Works Department.
🔹GIS Project Coordinator (Part-Time): The GIS Project Coordinator will work closely with IT and GIS supervisors to create and coordinate project materials relating to the IT Dept. This will include coordinating project plans, tracking progress, coordinating meetings, managing documentation, and reporting updates. This position will be a primary liaison between the IT Department and other city departments and administration.
